Roof Inserts

Many conservatories suffer from excessively high temperatures which can be caused by a variety of factors such as poor ventilation or design, but the predominant factor is the summer sun shining through the roof. In the summer temperatures in a conservatory can easily exceed 130 degrees Fahrenheit making it impossible to use the room. Roof inserts reflect the heat and glare before it enters the room substantially reducing the temperature to a more user friendly environment.

In addition to reducing the heat in the summertime inserts also block 99% of ultra violet light, thus considerably reducing fading of any furniture in the conservatory. In the wintertime roof inserts keep in any radiated heat from the inside therefore reducing heating costs and making the conservatory more comfortable to use.

Easy to install with no drilling or damage at all to the roof, inserts are completely maintenance free and will last the life of the roof.

Generally speaking for a conservatory to be comfortable the temperature should be controlled to between 64°F and 84°F (8°c-28°c). An additional benefit is that roof inserts also prevent heat loss in the winter thus making it more useable and reducing heating costs.

What Causes Fading?

Whilst exposure to any amount of natural light will cause fading, furnishings and fabrics in a conservatory fade more rapidly due to exposure to ultra-violet light (UV) and high levels of solar heat. The elimination of UV and reduction of solar heat will assist in retaining the natural colours in fabrics and extend the useful life of furnishing.
